  • Are you carrying out an entrepreneurial project with your students?

The Scholastic section supports the development of an entrepreneurial spirit among students from preschool to vocational training by promoting entrepreneurial projects that foster personal development and academic motivation.

The young people are at the heart of the action in creating a product, service or event, with the encouragement of education professionals.

Entrepreneurial experimentation, the second lever of Education Through Entrepreneurial Spirit, is a tool for success. In addition to placing learning in context (what it’s for), experimentation has positive impacts on:

Why carry out a project with your students?

    • For young people, carrying out a project at school places learning in context and has positive impacts on building their identity, developing their feeling of competence and their sense of belonging and, for older students, providing career choices.
    • In addition, the school staff who guide and support them report greater pleasure from teaching, a decrease in behavioural issues and improved classroom management.

5 steps of the Défi OSEntreprendre

Each edition of the Défi OSEntreprendre rolls out in a yearly cycle from November to June.

    1. Registration

    📅 Starting in November

Using the Guide to the form and the selection criteria, start completing the registration form at your own pace and submit it before the deadline on March 11, 2025, 4:00 p.m.

    2. Validation

    📅 March

The school principal receives a participation certificate for each student.* This is a great tool to hand out at a special activity to shine the spotlight on the young people!

*The certificates are personalized with the name of the project and are prepared based on the number of young people indicated on the registration form.

    3. Local level*

    📅 Beginning of April

The application is evaluated by a jury in your area, which sees how dynamic your young people are.

The local prizewinners receive diplomas to hang proudly in the classroom! Have you thought about sharing a photo of the young people to get the conversation started about the project team?

*Certain institutions or territories do not hold a selection process at the local level. In that case, applications go straight to the selection process at the regional level.

    4. Regional level

    📅 End of April

The applications of the local prizewinners are evaluated by another jury.

The regional prizewinners are announced during a gala, an opportunity to meet people and, together, celebrate the region’s entrepreneurial spirit!

    5. Provincial level

    📅 May and June

The applications of the regional prizewinners are evaluated by another jury.

The winners are announced during the Desjardins Grand Prize Gala of the Défi OSEntreprendre, a huge celebration that brings more than 600 guests together at the Palais Montcalm in Québec City!
